Howie has figured out a way to enjoy trail rides. It has become one big buffet table for him. He hasn't figured out, yet, how to grab branches and strip the leaves off so the empty branch whips back into my face, but notice I said yet. Howie is not a rocket scientist remember. It takes him a little longer to figure things out. But once he has it, it's there. So, for now, as we wander along the fields and woods Howie reaches down and grabs a mouthful of grass. I know I shouldn't let him, but really, how much does it hurt? If it helps him to be more comfortable out and about, I'm all for it. But I think I will try to keep him from learning my old horses trick with the branches, I probably still have scars on my face to remind me of those rides.

(Yeah, I too, know it isn't in any of the Miss Manners' Trail riding etiquette guidelines).
